Hollow Master Tool

This Sorby Hollow Master is a larger swan neck tool that features a flat bottom for stability on the tool rest and a 1/4" wide HSS cutter. The cutter can swivel to allow access in hard to reach areas of hollow turnings. Also included is a 1" round scraper cutter. The Hollowmaster Tool measures 3/4" in diameter with an overall length of 24". Maximum reach of the tool is approximately 8".

The Midi Hollow Master is a smaller version of the popular Sorby Hollowmaster tool. The swan neck shape of the neck allows the cutter to be positioned in line with the shank to limit rotational forces. It is useful for cutting through a limited opening like those in closed vessel shapes. A 1/2" wide flat on the shank provides stability on the toolrest. The cutter is mounted on a swivel tip to give access to hard to reach areas. The cutter is made of 1/8" wide high speed steel with a rounded end. A 5/8" diameter round scraper is also included for smoothing to cuts. The shank is 6" with a 10" Ash handle.
