The Lancelot carving discs can be used for rapid wood removal or more delicately for feathering and texturing. The Lancelot disc is available in a 14 tooth model for coarse work or 22 tooth for fine work. It has a 5/8" hole for mounting on a 4-1/2" angle grinder with a paddle or constant pressure switch (not included).

The Lancelot is made of a circle of special chainsaw chain mounted between two stainless steel discs. The chain has consecutive left and right teeth without a skip link, giving twice the number of teeth as a regular chainsaw chain, giving it the ability to power through hardwoods easily. Should the blade hit a nail or piece of wire in wood, on most occasions it will cut through the obstruction. If not, the impact will cause the chain to stop while the discs rotate giving the user a warning to stop the angle grinder. The Lancelot chains are easily sharpened with a 5/32" (4mm) chain saw file.

The Lancelot will fit most 4-1/2" angle grinders with 10,000 to 13,000 rpm and a 5/8" shaft (not recommended for 4" angle grinders).

By using the universal nut offered, more than one Lancelot disc can be mounted on the shaft for more rapid wood removal. Also, combinations of fine or coarse Lancelot and Squire discs can be used for faster removal of concave surfaces.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT:

• Your work piece is secured in a work bench, vise or manner that insures it is safe to cut.
• You’re wearing protective safety clothing and all instructions for the assembly of our tools have been faithfully carried out!You will see constant references to Lancelot, however, you can assume the same principles apply to Squire should you use Squire on its own.
• We’re going to refer to wood as the object being cut, however, if your subject is ice, bonsai trees, rubber or any other soft non-ferrous materials, the cutting techniques are the same.
• These tips are written for right hand use carving simply because our tools fit right hand angle grinders. The standard hand position is to lightly but firmly grip the auxiliary handle with your left hand and the body of the grinder with your right.
• There’s no need to use a death grip or a vise grip and make your knuckles go white with the pressure - you’ll exert much easier control with a firm relaxed grip.
