Black Limba, (Terminalia Superba) is found in the tropical regions of Western Africa. The heartwood is a light yellow to golden brown hue and features dark figuring throughout. Black Limba is rated as easy to work with (for both hand and machine tools) and while it does contain a small amount of silica, the blunting effect on cutters is generally minimal. This wood also glues and finishes well.
