Redheart (Erythroxylon mexicanum) grows in Central America. It ranges in color from a brownish-pink to a bright watermelon red when freshly cut. 

This wood turns, sands, and finishes well but will begin to turn brown after exposed to light. You can slow down this process by using a finish that features a UV inhibitor and keeping your piece out of direct sunlight. 

Our pen blanks measure 3/4" square and vary in length from 5" to 6".
