Thumbnail Filmstrip of Blackwood Pen Blanks - 5 pack Images
Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) typically grows in eastern Africa. It features a rich, dark color and is often referred to as ebony, although it is actually related to the rosewoods. Blackwood can be incredibly difficult to work with as it has a severe blunting effect on tools. However, it is also considered to be one of the finest woods for woodturning as it holds treads and fine details very well.
Our pen blanks measure 3/4" square and are between 5" and 6" in length. They are sold in packs of 5.
