This Carbide Slip Stone is perfect for honing the flutes of gouges to achieve sharpness. The slip measures 1-1/2" wide by 4-1/2" long with a slight arc on the top and the bottom edge. The Slip Stone can also be used to hone the bevel of a tool by using the two wide flat surfaces. The Slip Stone works best using honing oil or water as a cutting lubricant , but some turners use the slip stone dry.
