This fine grit Hard Arkansas Slip Stone is perfect for honing the flutes of gouges to achieve sharpness. The slip measures 2 wide by 4 long with a slight round on the top and bottom edge. The Slip Stone can also be used to hone the bevel of a tool by using the two wide flat surfaces. The Slip Stone works best using honing oil or water as a cutting lubricant , but some turners use the slip stone dry.
