Sorby Wobble Chuck
The Wobble Chuck enables you the make off center turnings using the Patriot chuck. This makes it possible to turn many creative shapes and opens up new design opportunities an almost endless number of combinations. The steel body of the Wobble Chuck measures 2" diameter. It has a 1-3/4" dovetail spigot used to hold it in the standard Patriot chuck 50mm Jaws. The body of this accessory is split at an angle so when the tip half is rotated causing the workpiece to be tilted. The amount of tilt is varied by the amount of rotation. Marks on the body of the chuck allow you to repeat settings. When the position is set it is then secured with a set screw. The workpiece is fastened to the Wobble Chuck by drilling a 1/4" pilot hole and threading it on the 1" long screw center. The work piece should not exceed 5" diameter by 6" long.
The Wobble Chuck is held in the 50mm Jaws that are supplied with the Patriot Chuck (It can also be held in the standard jaws of the Nova and Vicmarc VM100 Chucks).
