Beall IX (internal expanding) collets can be used instead of jam chucks to mount smaller turnings on a lathe. Insert an IX collet into a hole bored in your workpiece and the jaws will expand inside to clamp it securely. They are made from a hard anodized aluminum and are tightened from the back with a hex key (included). IX Collets have a 1/2" mounting shaft which enables them to be used with a standard 1/2" drill chuck. They can also be held in the Beall Collet Chuck Hub with the 1/2" Collet (113923) to hold the IX Collet.
Beall IX Collet Chuck includes eight collet sizes to fit inside hole diameters from 1/2" to 1-1/2" and come in 1/8" increments, and come mounted in a cherry mounting block.
