This Shear Scraper is indespencible for final shaping and getting the best finish posible before sanding. Torn out end grain on faceplate work will be a thing of the past.

It features a M2 high speed steel cutter that is cryognically hardened. It sits on the shank with a downward angle to help prevent catches. The cutter has a special shape to allow for the outside and inside bowl use. The straight edge is used on the outside of while the curved shape is best inside of bowls. Tool is mostly used with the edge rolled over at a 40 to 45 degree angle to the work for a shearing cut.

Sharpening can be done with a fine diamond hone to raise a small burr that is doing the cutting. It can be sharpened on a grind if neeed to get a more coarse burr or to reshape the cutter for special situations.

The tool shank measures 5/8" diameter buy 7" long from the 12" stained Beech handle.
